SHOPPING: From Achill to Galway there are a wide variety
of local craft shops. In Westport the Foxford Woollen Mills
Shop, the Carraig Donn shop and many other smaller establishments
sell an impressive range of top quality Irish made items including
knitwear, glassware and ceramics. For something a bit different
make a trip down to the quay in Westport to The Waterfront
Gallery - owned and run by Annie Brennan which stocks
a unique and diverse collection of Irish paintings and craftwork
which includes glassware, clocks, pots and stunning modern
jewellery. Westport also has a range of clothes, music, shoe
and toy shops.
FOOD SHOPS: Mulranny village has two supermarkets.
Newport has a good supermarket with an off licence; an excellent
butcher with prize winning sausages, black pudding and much
more. Castlebar (17 miles) hosts the supermarket giants of
Tescos, Dunne's Stores and Aldi. All situated in the
same area they are easily accessible. Westport (15 miles)
has an excellent supermarket with an award winning off licence,
good fruit and veg shop, they also have a good health food
shop and an excellent fish shop called Clarke's.

HEALTH: Various health treatments are available in
Westport by appointment. A longer drive away is a revitalising
sauna and seaweed bath in a family run Edwardian bathhouse
in Inniscrone. Well worth the drive.
